EXPO IS BACK FOR SUMMER 2018

Pack a picnic and soak up the sounds in the beautiful surrounds of Barrow’s Park Bandstand – EXPO is back for summer 2018! Featuring DJ’s Aim and Ad Bickerdike, this year’s run of six dates kicks off on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 27th and as ever admission is free and all ages are welcome.

Expect deep house, solar-powered soul, chilled hip-hop and tuff disco with an emphasis on quality – EXPO is a vinyl-only affair and every record played is selected with great care and attention. “We do play the odd new release” explains Andy, “but in the main we’re drawing from decades of amazing records and we’re always on the hunt for unearthed future EXPO classics.”

There are few places to play records as picturesque as the park bandstand. Says Andy, “when the grass is green, the sky is a blue and the late afternoon sun dips down towards the Cenotaph, on every level EXPO can go toe to toe with any party anywhere in the world. It’s about vibe and when all the elements come together, the weather, the music and the people, it’s as good as it gets.”  Ad continues, “It’s an incredible venue. An open space that feels really intimate. Tracks take on a new sound being played outdoors and musically we can take it wherever we feel like taking it.

For the first time, a number of select guest DJ’s will be playing at EXPO this year along with exclusive live performances from Niko and Maidm, both of whom are hard at it in Aim’s Speed Limit Studios recording albums to be released on ATIC Records.

EXPO ’18 dates : Sundays-  27th May, 10th June, 1st July, 15th July, 5th Aug, 26th Aug.
