Stuff I like (top 5's)
Nirvana Bootlegs (CD)

1. 'Into The Black' (Tribute)
6 cd box set including early demos, the '92 Reading Festival
and the last ever American show at the Seattle Centre Arena. this
is the only place to find this show. also comes with a great
booklet with previously unseen photos. an amazing set.

2. 'In The Shadows Of The Sun' (Kiss The Stone / KTS)
one of my favourite shows, recorded at the Miami Bayfront Arena, 1993.
the sound is just about perfect and the band are on fire. some nice
between song banter and a great set list. unfortunately, to fit on a
single disc a few tracks are missing but the whole show can be found
on the 2 cd set 'Across America' (which sold recently for $330 on Ebay
so start saving).

3. 'Live In Seattle' (Front Row Centre)
I love this show. recorded at Christmas in a small Seattle venue before
the band really blew up, it contains many tracks subsequently dropped
from their sets like 'Mr Moustache'. to add to the fun there's an introduction
by west coast poet Jesse Burnstien who reads some of his work before
introducing our heroes as "the band with the freeze dried music..."

4. '17 Nassbaum Road' (Small Clone)
incredibly, this is an audience recording from Nirvana's first ever show
at a house party in Raymond WA, 1987. not the best recording but an
amazing document. also contains 9 tracks recorded for a radio show in
Olympia, WA from the same year.

5. 'All Acoustically' (Kiss The Stone / KTS)
another gem from KTS, this disc contains both the MTV Unplugged gig
and the MTV Live And Loud show from Pier 48, Seattle, 1993. unlike the
official release of Unplugged, this disc hasn't been ruined by post production
mixing and is exactly as it was originally recorded. the Pier 48 show is right
up there with the best Nirvana shows. the sound, enhanced by the addition of
2nd guitarist Pat Smear is incredible and the opening track, 'Radio Friendly
Unit Shifter' EXPLODES!!!

Nirvana Bootlegs (DVD)

1. 'Reading Festival (30/8/92)' - DVD-R
this is unbelievable. for years the best source for this gig was the CD 'Last UK
Show'. but a while ago I got hold of a DVD taken straight from the original,
professionally shot film, even has the time code at the bottom of the screen.
perfect picture and arguably the best show they ever did.

2. 'Demolition Man' (Apocalypse Sound)
quality compilation including the full MTV Pier 48 show with it's subsequently
edited finale where Kurt decapitates an angel.

3. 'Celebration' (Apocalypse Sound)
great show professionally recorded at the Paradiso club in Amsterdam.

4. 'The MTV Files Uncut'
all their MTV appearances in one handy package.

5. 'The Comfort In Being Sad'
this contains the infamous gig from the Trees Club in Dallas, Texas during
which the monitor desk gets trashed and a meat head bouncer gets a guitar
wrapped round his head.
